I Saw You

I saw you,
my old love –
Standing –
As we did
On Wilberforce Road.

The place where
We talked of
Our children
Never born.
And how –
You’d be a
Lousy father.

How we laughed
Walked – tipsy –

We held one another – in wide smiles
like good
Looked at my
Other love
Across the road.

Said, that is the man
Said, but you are no threat

You replied
But, to him, I have had sex with you.

And what good sex it was –
We stumbled shouldered
Together like those

When I looked again
across the road
the man was you.

And a message in voice above.

I am marrying …..
